Bloomberg says Élan has “the best band ever”

What an honor and inspiration it was to be a part of the opening night gala celebration for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.  The star-studded event raised 2.4 million dollars from which the proceeds go to funding children’s scholarship to the Ailey school.

Dinner and dancing followed the event at the Hilton New York’s grand ballroom.  The after party, designed and planned by the amazing David Monn, featured the core members of the Rhythm Collective band accompanied by Djore and New York’s Urban Gospel choir.   Guests, including Jesse Norman and Ray Chew (American Idol musical director), gave a standing ovation to the choir interlude and then packed the dance floor til midnight.

BLOOMBERG REVIEW

We are also super excited to have these same gospel singers perform at one of the official Obama Inaugural Balls with Rafanelli events. More details on that to come….

Cabaret and Showgirls: Speakeasy Deluxe

On November 14th guests of the Core Club’s annual party were transported back in time to the roaring 1920’s.

Feathers, fringe, and suspenders were abundant throughout the dapper venue that was transformed into a fun and feisty speakeasy by the amazing team at Colin Cowie.

Guests enjoyed their hooch while cigarette girls roamed the joint with party favors that certainly were the Cat’s Meow.

Carte Blanche started off the night and got guests doing the Charleston while later in the evening Rhythm Collective kept the party going.

In between bands, guests got to rest their feet while being amazed by fire breathers and tantalized by burlesque dancers.
